EDGE2 isthmus

jazz geology art on Bruny Island Tasmania

There are five main  steps in using this material in the classroom. The steps are based around the visual arts and music curriculum. The science is integrated into the visual arts and music.

1. Review the CURRICULUM that pertains to the visual arts and science, listed on the main menu.

2. Review the RESOURCES listed on the main menu:

a) ART (a list of the artists and the 'gallery' based on the theme of the Neck/Isthmus)

b) SCIENCE (a video of the way the Bruny Island Neck (the isthmus) was formed

c) MUSIC (a recording of music based on the Neck/Isthmus)

3. Review the EDGE2 TEACHING METHODOLOGY model (under CURRICULUM)

4. Review the activity stages under each component. These stages correlate with the curriculum standards. Sample activities are provided. Teacher Training in service workshops can be arranged at request to assist with the development of further activities.

5. Choose one component, either music visual arts or science. Test it on yourself by completing the online activities. Then test it with your students.

FEEDBACK: We are grateful for your feedback and are happy to discuss further collaboration on materials development as required.
